Growing Tips
Best Position
Plant in a warm, sunny, sheltered position – ideally south- or west-facing. It thrives in coastal conditions and benefits from protection against cold winds and frost.
Soil Preparation
Grow in well-drained soil, ideally sandy, loamy, or chalky. It dislikes heavy, waterlogged soils, so add grit or sand to improve drainage if needed.
Support & Training
A naturally bushy and compact plant – no support needed. Looks beautiful trained lightly against a sunny wall or allowed to spill over the edge of raised beds or pots.
Pruning
Prune lightly after flowering in late spring to maintain shape and encourage new shoots. Avoid hard pruning into old wood.
Winter Care
Hardy in mild and coastal areas. In colder regions, protect with fleece during hard frosts or grow in a container that can be moved to a sheltered spot over winter.
